Former Bengal cricket captain, Manoj Tiwary, has stirred a debate by questioning the rationale behind his exclusion from the Indian cricket team despite his maiden ODI century in 2011. Tiwary, who recently retired from first-class cricket, expressed his disappointment over being dropped from the squad after his stellar performance against West Indies, urging former captain MS Dhoni to provide clarity on the decision.

Tiwary's query comes in light of his remarkable unbeaten century against West Indies in 2011, where he scored 104 runs off 126 balls, earning him the Player of the Match title. Despite his potential, Tiwary found himself sidelined from the squad thereafter. Addressing the issue at a felicitation event, Manoj said "I would like to ask Dhoni why was I dropped from the playing XI in 2011 after scoring a century? I had the potential to be a hero just like Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli but could not be."

"In that Australia tour, nobody was scoring runs, neither was Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma or Suresh Raina. I have nothing to lose now." he added.
